Founded in 2017, Wine Country Shuttles (Marlborough) Limited is a privately owned and operated company. In 2026, the business adopted the operating name Wine Country Experiences, a reflection of the personalised tours, private transfers, and curated regional experiences now at the heart of the company.
Wine Country Experiences offers dedicated private transfers, personalised touring, and customised regional experiences throughout Marlborough.
Our tours capture the true essence of Marlborough — from beautiful country gardens and sweeping landscapes to the breathtaking Marlborough Sounds, talented local artists, and the renowned wines of the wider Marlborough region.
Each experience is private and bespoke, designed for small groups of up to six guests and tailored to your individual interests. Travel at your own pace, explore in comfort, and enjoy the freedom to discover Marlborough in a relaxed and personal way.
The transfers are private door-to-door service to and from airport to your accommodation and or restaurants and wineries. We also go beyond Marlborough to Havelock, Picton, Kaikoura, Blenheim and further afield to Christchurch and Nelson.
Joseph, the company owner, arrived in Blenheim in 1988 as part of the New Zealand Police service from which he retired in 2014 after 37 yrs service.
Manaakitanga.
In the Māori dictionary, Manaakitanga is translated as: hospitality, kindness, generosity, support – the process of showing respect, generosity, and care for others.
At Wine Country Experiences, we believe travel should never feel rushed. We take the time to be welcoming, helpful and attentive — offering a smile, lending a hand with luggage, or waiting a little longer when needed. Our bookings are designed to allow for that level of personal care and genuine hospitality.
When travelling longer distances, we encourage guests to slow down and enjoy the journey. Along the way there is always time to stop, stretch the legs, admire the scenery and share local knowledge and stories. The journey itself should be just as enjoyable as the destination.
The vehicles we operate are a Mercedes Viano van seats six in comfort with leather seats, air conditioning. Luggage space for four large suitcases. A Chrysler 300, spacious comfortable sedan for 1-3 people, luggage space for two large suitcases and two carry on.
Child seat and Booster seat are also available.
